BROWLIFT
The position of the eyebrows play a significant role in non-verbal communication as well as affecting the attractiveness of the human face. With aging, the position of the brows tends to descend. This produces an appearance that sends the nonverbal message that one is angry, tired or sad.
A brow lift corrects sagging brows and reduces the wrinkles of the forehead. It contributes to correction of excessive skin of the upper eyelids. Upper eyelid surgery (upper blepharoplasty) is often done simultaneously with brow lifting. This procedure can be done with an incision that extends across the hairline of the forehead or well up into the hairline. It also can be done endoscopically with a few small incisions above the hairline. In our practice, the majority are done with the endoscope. Recovery is relatively rapid. Discomfort is moderate and analgesics are usually not needed after the first postoperative week. Return to work is usually possible within one to two weeks.
