Thigh Lift

Sometimes as a consequence of substantial weight loss or natural aging, the development of excess skin can occur in a portion of the inner thigh. The thigh lift procedure is designed to remove this unwanted skin and restore a smoother contour to the thigh.

There are three options with regard to the thigh lift procedure that pertain to the incision locationA circumferential thigh lift extends the procedure around the entire thigh and is designed to improve the appearance of the outer thigh as well. This result is similar to that of a lower body lift (torsoplasty), which is intended to correct excess skin about the lower back, hip and upper bottock areas but benefits the outer thigh as well. It has an increased recovery time due to the more extensive nature of the procedure.

A medial thigh lift is generally only recommended for patients with very limited skin excess. An incision is made in the area where the area where the leg and hip meet, which can allow for less visibility in terms of scarring but this technique tends to only benefit those with very minimal skin redundancy. The third option is a vertical thigh lift that places an incision along the inner thigh in order to excise the excess skin.
