Arm Lift

The correction of skin and fatty redundancies about the upper arm is generally known as brachioplasty (arm lift). This imperfection is commonly referred to as "batwings" because of the webbing that is sometimes seen between the lateral chest and the upper arm. It is common after weight loss, but is also frequently seen with aging and loss of skin tone. While this situation cannot be improved by exercise and no amount of muscular strengthening in the upper arm will cause this area to shrink, it is correctible through surgery. 

For some patients with limited redundancy, liposuction alone can offer improvements that are satisfying with minimal scarring.
