Buttocks Enhancement
Attention to the appearance and contour of the buttocks has become a more common focus for women. The female buttocks loose their fullness and can develop sagging due to weight loss or age itself. In an effort to correct this, three general approaches have been applied.
For those patients who have successfully lost a large amount of weight and are left with rolls of skin and fat that cover the buttocks, this skin can be relocated beneath the buttocks to add fullness and improve the contour of the buttock. This also corrects unnecessary skin in the buttocks, a procedure called autologous buttock augmentation.
Another commonly chosen option is to utilize liposculpture or fat transfer techniques. This approach is sometimes referred to as the “Brazilian Butt Lift.” In this procedure, fat is harvested from other areas of excess fat through liposuction. It is then processed and re-injected to gain greater volume in the buttock area. The success of the "Brazilian Butt Lift" comes from both reducing the fullness of areas above and below the buttocks, which increases the perception of prominence in the buttocks and the actual transferring of fatty tissue to the buttocks, which adds volume and yields a more youthful appearance.
A last option is the use of implants. This is appropriate in cases where the other options do not exist. Through small incisions placed on the inner aspect of the gluteal buttock fold, the implants are placed to add volume and shape. During the contemplation process, the techniques that would be most appropriate to reach your goals will be discussed and decided upon.
