LIPOSUCTION
Liposuction is the most commonly performed aesthetic procedure done in the U.S. It is applicable to almost any part of the body, but usually is applied to fatty areas in the hips, thighs, and abdomen. Liposuction has been used to contour almost every part of the human body including the chin, back, calves, ankles, knees, arms, and breast.
Liposuction is the aspiration of fat from the body using metal tubes called cannulas. These cannulas are placed through small incisions. Negative pressure is applied, and the fat is evacuated.
We have tried all variations of liposuction techniques including, Power Assisted Liposuction, Laser Liposuction, and Ultrasonic Liposuction. The state of this art is evolving and we’re sure the results continually improving.
The compression garment is an important part of the postoperative care program. It minimizes swelling and helps produce the desired contour. Depending upon the area being treated, the garment would be recommended for two to six weeks.
The benefits of liposuction are not fully realized for approximately three months due to long term swelling. Patients should consider this when scheduling.
