BREAST LIFT (MASTOPEXY)

breast lift modelSome women are disappointed with the droop (ptosis) of the breast. For this problem, various procedures termed breast lifts (mastopexy) have been developed. Breast drooping (ptosis) may occur due to the body's own natural predisposition or following pregnancies. Skin is elastic and with the engorgement of the breast associated with pregnancy or simply the effects of gravity, stretching of the skin can occur. This results in the breast lying too low over the chest wall. Exercise will not correct this. Surgery is the only recognized correction. Often, patients combine an augmentation with a mastopexy. This will increase the amount of volume of the breast, an attractive option for many women.
